Each exercise has a how-to video so you can make sure you’re doing the workout correctly.

See progress by tracking your workout difficulty, weights used, and reps completed.

About Me

Hi! I’m Sarah Petersen.

I’m the owner of Splits & Lifts. 

I like being upside down.

I used to say I’m a former gymnast and coach, but it just ain’t true! I’m very much still a gymnast, a coach of over 15 years, and I’ve since added aerialist and dancer to my list of faves.

I learned stuff the hard way.

After a traumatic elbow dislocation + a laundry list of chronic pain, I became an NASM-certified personal trainer & corrective exercise specialist. And WOW there was a ton of training missing from traditional gymnastics!

My goal is longevity.

Through fun, practical, and functional training, I want to help gymnasts avoid injury––and myself! A personal goal of mine? Keep my standing tuck forever!

Going beyond the gym floor.

After coaching at 5 gyms in 3 states and working with teams, individual clients, and consulting, I realized MORE people needed access to my training. It had to go virtual! And so, Splits & Lifts was born.

Fun facts.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA with my husband, daughter, and two German Shepherds. I’m a dancer for the Steel City Angels. I do aerial silks and lyra. I throw a dang good Halloween party! I have a note in my phone with over 100 puns that probably only I think are funny.
